Last time we looked at choosing keywords and putting them into the title tag of your page.

The next step is to use those keywords on your web pages. Google is interested in placement and ratios. You should have your keywords in the first and last paragraph of your page. Also if your keyword is “Wedding Photography” you want these keywords to appear approximately once for every 50 to 100 words on your page.

There is no doubt the advent of the shopping cart turned the internet from an information service to an ecommerce powerhouse.  If you have a website you should be trying to make money from it.  PayPal offer a no cost set of options.  Once you set up an account you can get the following features added to your site:

The PayPal Buy Now button allows a site visitor to purchase a single item such as a report or a single rose.

The PayPal Add To Cart button allows visitors to add many items to a shopping cart and then pay for all of them in one transaction at the end.

The upside of PayPal:

• No ongoing fees you pay a commission when you sell
• Can be set up in a short amount of time
• Trusted by everyone
• People can pay with their bank account, credit card or PayPal balance

The downside of PayPal:

• You will probably freak out a little until you get used to it
• You can’t accept cash or cheque as a payment option
• If your customers have ever had a PayPal account before with their credit card linked it will force them to log in.  If they have forgotten their password this will cause a problem

• Your browser will ask you for a username and password
• Your username is your email address
• Your password is the password you created when you set up your account

Steps:

• Go to www.yourdomain.com/cpanel

• Fill in the boxes and click “Create”
• That is it you now have an active email account

Note: Mailbox quota simply limits the storage of emails in a webmail account.

A blog is like an online diary.  The name is short for Web Log.  Blogs are a great way to get information out to you websites visitors.  Google also loves websites that have a blog attached.  Google loves content and the more the better.  Every time Google visits your site it looks to see if there is any new information available.  If there is it will crawl your site on a regular basis.  If your site never changes Google might only visit every 6 months which is not very good.  So pick a page of your site to be your blog and try and regularly add new information.  Google will be impressed. 

When surfing the web you may have opened a .pdf file.  PDF stands for Portable Document Format.  These pages are great because they look like an actual piece of paper.  The other thing is that they can’t be changed and they look the same on every computer.  This is important especially if you have pretty formatting to show.  HTML web pages can look different on every computer and so a PDF page could be the way to go.
